Official Coverage of the State Opening of Parliament (July 2026)

The Emperor’s Speech:

“My Lords and Members of the House of Commons,

My lower government will pursue a programme to secure good governance throughout the Empire. Measures will be brought forward to ensure that the institutions of state are transparent, orderly, and accountable. Provision will be made to improve communication between ministries and Parliament, to modernise administration, and to ensure that public office is held by those of proven competence, diligence, and integrity. In all matters, Government shall be judged by its works.

My lower government will advance measures to promote economic growth and opportunity. Legislation will be introduced to encourage trade and enterprise, and to strengthen roads, transport, and public infrastructure. These efforts shall extend to all regions of Totemia, so that prosperity may be shared across the whole Empire.

My lower government will bring forward proposals to secure the stewardship of the natural environment. Measures will support the responsible management of resources, the protection of lands of importance, and the reforestation of developed areas. In this way, development shall proceed without injury to the character of our realm.

My lower government will uphold fairness and equal opportunity in public service. Provision will be made to ensure equal pay for equal work, fair access to services, and just consideration in appointments. The participation of citizens in civic life shall be encouraged, and all shall be treated with due respect.

My lower government will undertake a programme of national development. Investment will be directed toward infrastructure, housing, education, and the improvement of public institutions. Long-term planning shall guide these efforts, so that present works may secure future prosperity.

My lower government will seek to promote unity through service. It will work with all parties and institutions prepared to act in the national interest. Differences shall not impede progress, and cooperation shall be pursued wherever it may be found.
