The Supreme Court Justice will be able to function also as a Court of Appeals, meaning it reviews decisions made by lower trial courts to determine if legal errors occurred. It does not hold new trials or hear new evidence. Instead, a panel of judges reviews the records of the case, legal arguments, and past rulings to decide if the trial was fair and legally sound.
